Good morning from beautiful central Arkansas. After a day of rain, it's humid here, but the sun is out and it's a perfect day for a cookout - which is precisely what we intend to do.

Hope I'll get to check back in later (like around 7 p.m. Portland time ) but whether I do or don't, ya'll have a wonderful day!!

I think I'm fighting a cold or something here......but I didn't have to fight as hard as Venus did when she beat Serena this morning... It was an AWESOME match. Hope some of you saw it....

Now, on to Federer/Nadal tomorrow morning. Federer is the man to beat, and I always liked him a lot, and I still do.......but I LOVE Raffa... I would love to see him win this one!

windy city weather ... today: HOT high 87.

with great heat comes great humdity around here.

I have an engagement in Oak Forest, from 2-4:30pm.
I haven't seen the stage, I pray we aren't facing
the afternoon sun. If we are, thankfully we'll be
done by the time the sun starts setting.

If I don't feel totally slobby afterwards,
I'll jump on 294 and zip over to
the RAM restaurant,near the AllState Arena.
The RUSH have a playoff game today. I have
a friend on the opposing team(grand rapids)
so I have some mixed feelings. Go RUSH !

well, win or lose, Chicago RUSH fans will
be gathered with many players,staff and even
the team owners(not Ditka, the real owners)
the Levin's at the RAM. It's tradition. And for
a few to several hours, it turns into a great mixer.

I'm off tomorrow(beach). Look's like I'll
have that Mai-Tai or Zombie, I have been
waiting to have tonight. Unlike some
people I have to deal with.

Well, yesterday it got up to 92, or 97 with the humidex (er, heat index) and today has been much cooler. Much much. I'm still wearing shorts but I've been walking faster and working harder outside to keep comfortable. It was 62 when I set out on my walk this morning, and it has now managed to crawl up to 66. Not too bad, but there is a very strong northwest wind again. You know, the type that can blow bugs into your teeth . Cloudy too for the most part too...

But it WAS a beautiful morning! I was so glad to get a decently long walk in today after only short ones for three days in a row. I enjoy seeing how all the trees and so on are progressing as our summer rushes by. I say hi to all the doggies who are out walking their humans. I also counted 5 rabbits. We didn't have such a bunny problem when cats were still allowed outside (city by-law -- no outdoor cats) We have one rabbit we can't keep out of our yard and he is destroying my garden.

ANYhow -- beautiful morning. Any morning can be if you believe it so!

Wow. I just spent from 9:00 am {EST} to 4:30 pm.....watching the men's final at Wimbledon! McEnroe was right in saying it was the best match he's ever seen...it's the best I've ever seen--and he's seen a lot more than I have! INCREDIBLE match. Rafa just NEVER gives up. That's one thing I love about him. A very well deserved win {the longest final at Wimbledon in history for the men!}

It was so intense, that I was getting physically ill watching it. I love Federer, I really do. But Rafa's been my favorite since I first saw him play. And my fave since Borg.

Traveled approx. 360 miles in the process.
minivans get rather thirsty.

Well if the weather looks semi-promising
in a little while, I'm off to the Indiana
Dunes National Shoreline, for some much
needed beachcombing.

if not ... there's always next day off.

St Louis summer kicked in last night. menaing high humidity, humidity higher than the temps. I do not get much done in this weather, drains me completley. Was up to about 4:30 this AM. Going on 2 hours of sleep. Not as bad as I thought I would be.

I have a yucky, summer cold. I just wanna sleep, but I have to head out to work in a bit. Oh boy, playing with kids---just what I need today!

Hey, at least the ice cream man comes today. I could sure use me a 4 color snow cone...

Here it is noon, and it's still only 57 out there. And raining. Kinda miserable out there.

On the bright side (here she goes again) it is a perfect day to get caught up with things inside. It feels so good getting reorganized and creating piles of stuff for recycling.

Absolutely spring-time cool here in Indy after having been in central Arkansas for the last several days. The rain followed us there - and talk about HUMID! Hoo-wee!

hot wet & muggy ... high: 85

a cool front is supposed to move through
putting the ka-bosh on the heat for a day or two.

With a weensy bit o' luck, it'll move in
by 5pm or so, as I have a 90 min performance
at Franklin ParkGazebo Nites with The Ragtops tonightat 7pm.
