I so very rarely hear any Raiders songs {except for the occasional "Indian Reservation"} on the radio here anymore. Once in awhile, I hear something as I'm shopping in Krogers....

BUT...tonight on Conan O'Brien, the band went to commercial playing "Just Like Me", with a sax providing the vocal line....pretty cool, I thought. Smiler Cool

I heard Just like me the other day, but I hear 200 other songs and several Beatle songs before hearing Marks voice on any song. Such a shame. Mad Roll Eyes

Yes, Our oldies station has recently switched to "MY MUSIC" (more 70s and 80s?) and the "only" Mark I now hear is "Indian Reservation"...apparently, "Kicks"and "Just Like Me" (and very occasionally, "Hungry" and "Arizona")was just too much for the general public to handle...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

I think radio just don't know what good music is anymore. I pity the folks when "today's" music is consider classic. Roll Eyes

I only VERY rarely even get IR anymore. I used to hear more Raiders in Kroger than on the radio! But even that source has basically dried up....Frowner

60s music on terrestrial radio is sliding into the sunset. Even in the limited time that KHITS has been on the air, the move towards the 80s has been rapid.

BTW, the group that was going to buy KISN for $4mm+ finally completed their due diligence...decided it wasn't a good deal, and Entercom has it back (and now using 910 AM to simulcast The Wolf [country]).

Sigh. And such is the way of the rapidly revolving, and diminishing, media component known as radio.... Frowner

This is basically the reason that I don't LIKE change.

Don't know how long our independent local oldies station will last, but I sure do enjoy the variety, when I get a chance to listen. Classic rock stations are still fairly abundant around here, and at least 2 of them are NOT Clear Channel stations.

When KISN so abruptly changed formats, it was just about the most depressing thing I'd ever experienced in radio. And I didn't even grow up listening to the station! But it was so unique, playing the same great music, year after year. I guess, in a way, that really WAS the begining of the end for me. Frowner

You're bringing back memories now. I did "listen to KISN" as a teen, whenever we were in Portland. Living in Eugene, it was hard to get on the radio (you know you had to put the transistor up to the bedroom window and tilt it while standing on your head or something Wink) But the Bon Marche record dept posted the KISN Good Guys Top Songs (Top 40, maybe?) every week, so we always knew what songs were really cool. Ah, memories....

Not much Mark/PR&R's on any station here - they ought to be ashamed!

I never did get to hear Mark during his time on KISN, obviously would have loved to Smiler

I loved the KISN shows.Mark was able to play so many different songs.I was unfamiliar with most of his later music,Video Dreams for example, until I heard him play it on KISN.The 60's commercials he played also made the show unique.
