Of course I miss Mark's show, but I'm continually surprised by our oldies station here. I'm hearing lots of Raiders and Mark of late! I just about fell down the stairs today to crank up "Let Me". In the last few days we've heard, "Him or Me" "Birds of a Feather" and of course "Good Thing" "Kicks" and "Arizona". They have even played the Raiders version of "Fever" though that was quite a while ago.

We get things like the Electric Prunes, Tom Cochrane and everything in between. By regulation there has to be certain percentage of Canadian content, but that just adds to the variety of odd things we get to hear.

Posting this just because I'm so tickled to be hearing so much Mark lately! Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Seems like I too have been hearing ALOT more Mark and Raider stuff on our little oldies station here lately. At first I thought they were advertising something that had nothing to do with Mark but even if they were they were still playing the music and the DJ seemed to be making it a point to mention Mark Lindsay by name either before or after the song. And it always makes me VERY happy to hear the music AND the name! Well, I still listen to KHits online and they play the Raiders and Mark in abundance Big Grin, which is a "good thing" because our local oldies station plays about two Raiders songs a year (they ought to be ashamed - this is the Northwest, after all). Think I'll call tomorrow and request one and see if they can dig one up! Or I could just call Jason Miller on KHits tomorrow morning - I'm sure he'll have no problem playing one!

Let's keep hoping that Mark will be back on Sat nights soon..... Big Grin

I'm impressed. We get Kicks and Kicks and sometimes....Kicks. It's the number one song on my list of "Songs I'd Like to NOT Hear for Five Years or So, So Then They'd Sound Fresh Again."

I found a new oldies station a couple of days ago. Playing some real oldies, never heard of some, but can figure out the decade. We are talking about going back to the 40's. Fine with me. I like the variety. It is AM station so reception can be poor at times. Hearing songs I haven't heard in decades Still not hearing Mark or Raiders. On the FM oldies yesterday I heard heard 3 Beatles in a matter of about 2 hours and not Mark or Raiders all day.

Yesterday was a FIRST for me too! Big Grin I was shocked to say the least but we have a rather new DJ on our oldies station and he seems to have some control over what he plays and does play stuff that you usually never hear on radio and will play the entire song and not just the "regular" part. Although it is an FM station it is so small that the reception is pretty bad at times and the signal doesn't carry very far. But sure is nice for the small area that I travel around in! Smiler

The theme for the Saturday afternoon show on my local oldies station, is Sex, Drugs and Rock'n'Roll. In the ads this week, they said there wouldn't be and sex on the radio because is was too awkward Wink Razzer, but lots of songs that were about drugs, or people thought they were about drugs. (and a number written under the influence if the stories are true!) I'm AMAZED at the songs that were about drugs. I heard them in my innocence and never made the connection. Stayed innocent if you will. I listen to them now and say. "Oh yeeeaaaahhh!"

"Kicks" has already been played Big Grin

So "Stoner Saturday" has been really interesting so far. Streams live, if anyone is out there at the moment, and interested. http://www.cfrw.ca/page.aspx?page_id=318

Ordinarily I wouldn't post the addy, but since Mark isn't on the air...Frowner

If the REAL radio show comes back Mark, this would be a fun theme... Big Grin
